About me
My name is Edwin Fortuna. I live in Florida with my wife, our daughter, and our two English Bulldogs, Rocket and Luna.
After dedicating much of my life to the fire service, I made the decision to pursue my true passion—art. I was born in New York and raised in the Dominican Republic, and from an early age, I dreamed of becoming a professional artist. Years later, after a rewarding career in EMS, I realized it was finally time to fully commit to that dream.
I returned to school at Full Sail University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography. Driven by a deep passion for storytelling, I went on to complete a Master’s degree in Creative Writing, with a focus on scriptwriting.
Even after reaching these milestones, I felt there was still something missing. I didn’t just want to tell stories—I wanted to bring the characters and worlds in my imagination to life. That realization led me to pursue an MFA in Animation and Visual Effects, with an emphasis on stop-motion and fabrication, at the Academy of Art University.
Today, through my production company, Red Orb Studios, I offer a wide range of high-quality professional services, including movie prop fabrication, stop-motion animation, and custom builds. I also work as a scriptwriter, painter, and author/illustrator of children’s books and novels, alongside providing full-scale filmmaking services.
